Wabi Kusa Workshop: New Hope
Wabi Kusa Workshop: Create Your Own Miniature Aquatic Garden
1-2:30PM Saturday, January 9th | New Hope, PA
Discover the unique world of Wabi Kusa in this hands-on aquascaping workshop! Wabi Kusa is a Japanese-inspired style of planted display that combines aquatic plants, terrestrial growth, and creative arrangement to create a miniature living landscape. Rather than being fully submerged like a traditional aquarium, Wabi Kusa allows plants to grow both in and above the water, creating a beautiful, natural-looking display that sits somewhere between an aquarium, terrarium, and living floral arrangement. The result is a lush little ecosystem that brings the beauty of an aquascape into even the smallest spaces.
During this class, you’ll create your own Wabi Kusa ball and learn how to arrange a selection of plants and decorative elements into a unique miniature habitat. Your finished creation is perfect for a windowsill, desktop, office, or plant shelf, making it an excellent choice for anyone who loves aquatic plants, aquascaping, or simply wants a beautiful, low-maintenance piece of nature in their home. Your workshop fee includes the glass cube aquarium with lid, Wabi Kusa ball, plants, and décor needed to create your display. Wabi Kusa can be maintained using natural light from a suitable windowsill, so a plant light is optional and available separately. Water conditioner, fertilizer, and other care supplies are not included.
Wabi Kusa Care
After the workshop, we’ll email each participant detailed Wabi Kusa care instructions to help you keep your new miniature garden healthy and looking its best.
